RE: Anyone Heard of This CG? In OR

See if The Patio has an room. The Patio is not such a high end place, but still very nice. It is about 1 mile more up river.

Paradise FS Campground is nice.
What type of rig are you traveling in and what type of CG are you looking for?

I have never stayed there. Blue River, OR in on the McKenzie River and is a very scnic area.
Up river about 10 more miles is Bellnap Hot Springs Resort. The McKenzie River Trail is very close to the property and a great hike or bike.

RE: Eugene, OR Camping

Eugene is not very RV friendly. There is one park north of town and one south of town.
There are hundreds of miles of jogging and bicycle trails thou.

RE: Who has big Fall TC Trips Planned?

We have parked the truck and camper for the summer. I dropped the insurance down to fire and theft.
I think we will go down to Yosemite on the Harley and save the diesel money for the winter.

RE: Fuel Rants & Raves - Post 'Em Here!

Sorry if this is a repeat, but just saw where a 10cent a gallon raise on Federal fuel tax is being considered. Peachy :M
It is bound to happen. The states will be doing it next.
If less gas is purchased, then less TAX is collected.

RE: Crater Lake

There are boondocking areas outside the park on 230, 138 and 97.
I would suggest camping off of 138 and going into the park early in the morning. Go in the north entrance, circle the lake clockwise and then go back out the north entrance.
Leaving the Crater Lake area; Hwy 138 west is more scenic (lots of waterfalls and the beautiful Umpqua river) then Hwy 58.
Hwy 97 going north is nicer then I-5.
Too many decision, too little time.

RE: How old is the Truck Camper?

Here is a quote from the Alaskan Camper web site.
"Since the original Alaskan campers, designed in 1953 for the purpose of camping along the Alcan Highway, campers have searched for a camper that would give them protection from the rain and cold; a camper that would travel rough terrain, be lightweight and present the least wind resistance on the road."

RE: Forest service campgrounds

Mt Hood NF
Each NF web site is a little different. Look for Recreation and then look for camping.
This web site does give length info.
Example:
Bonney Meadow | CLOSED DUE TO SNOW | $10 | 6 sites - 16 ft. max |
Campground
4,800 ft. elev
Access via Forest Road 4891.

RE: Attractions In Oregon (Your Suggestions)

I have lived in Oregon my whole life and I have not seen it all. I travel a lot, but most of the time we never leave the state.
Just stay off the interstate and stop at the little town museums and waystops.

RE: BC to Oregon Coast in September

What do you like / want to see on the Oregon coast?
Lot of history in Astoria.
South of Astoria is crowds, shopping and traffic.
The central coast is more rocky, with some sandy beaches.
The south coast is more long sandy beaches.

RE: Working and forming an LLC

I am thinking about setting up an LLC before we by the RV and the Toad. Additionally, we are thinking about 'lines of business' to generate income: working on golf courses, janitor work, camphosts, teaching business/program management at a junior college for a semester.
Have any of you set that up? Do you need to have a profitable business 3 of 5 years?
Any advice?
Thanks
Randy and Pam
I was thinking about doing something that that too. If the business had work elsewhere, the miles could then be deducted at the federal rate.

RE: Idaho Campgrounds with sites near lakes or rivers?

We just got back from a week in Idaho Panhandle area. It seemed to me that Idaho does not spend a lot on tourism.
We found Clearwater Crossing RV Park to be a nice place. There is some scenic drives in the area.
View out the camper window in a 60ft pullthru

RE: Campgrounds or attactions in Northeast Oregon

First: Get off the interstate Hwy 97 or 395 are good south bound roads.
We enjoy the small town America museums.
Sisters, Oregon is a interesting tourist town.
While you are up in Washington, you might want to check out Leavenworth, WA.

RE: Big Rig driving Crater Lake West Rim

You could drive on the west rim of Crater Lake with your MH and toad, but why would you want to?
The lake and most of the pulloffs are on the left. It is like going down (south) the Oregon coast is far better then going up the coast. Going clockwise around Crater Lake is better idea. (I wish they would make it a one way)
Take the toad loose from the MH and enjoy the drive around the lake. You will enjoy it a lot more.
